Question 1

What is the simple answer for:
How do I sign up for a small group at Bridgepoint?

By using the connection card in the program...during sign up months. That's it, your in!
I've read books from churches that seem to have great small group strategy's. And after reading their books I learn that they answer the question something like this:
Sign up to come back to another event at another time, Go home and get on the internet and look for a group, Fill out this card and then you'll be contacted if your lucky, Or, call a small group leader directly. YIKES!Again, I'm yearning for simplicity!

Simplicity

If someone walks up to you and asks questions about your ministry are you able to answer them? Have you figured out some of the nuts and bolts in your head and how to say it? These days I yearn for Simplicity. I recently read about the KISS/KILL FACTOR. I have known about the KISS saying for years but not put together with KILL.

Keep It Simple Stupid...Keep It Likable & Learnable

So my 3 rules for keeping it simple have become: Simplify, Simplify, Simplify.

It was Tom Peters who said, "If you're not confused...you're not paying attention." I'm afraid that's the motto of too many churches today! We need to learn to simplify what we are doing.

I've been asking myself, where is Bridgepoint's small group system too complicated or burdensome? If I were going to start over from scratch, what would I do? More later...

2009 Strategy Gathering

I'm really excited about this Sunday's Strategy meeting. We're going to be laying out an entire new strategy for small groups in 2009. I know its going to bring great things in the next year.

We will cover 8 important ways that we are "re-thinking" small groups at Bridgepoint. I know many of these are going to personally help out your group and remove some stress on several levels.

Just a reminder that if you host or co-host a group, you can attend one of two meetings. Sunday 9am or 10:30. Each in Modular 101.

A New Name

Our church has just passed a vote for a new name. It was a 95% vote but even higher than that. Here's why, some voted yes and then penciled in something like "baptist" or "christian". That had to be counted as a "no" vote.
In a few years we are relocating to the new land we own in Meridian. We wanted to change the name of the church now so that we could work on establishing that identity in our current location of SE Boise.

I am very excited about our new name. I believe it lowers barriers for the unchurched and even the disenfranchised denominational attender. We desire to be a bridge to four communities, a bridge between generations and a bridge between Christ and the world.
If you want to hear a piece of the message about our name change check out the link below. It will explain the process that we went through and how God brought us to this name.
